BALI - INDONESIA

I spent one night in Maumere before flying back to Bali. The town was very run down and I only explored to locate the airport which was off the edge of my map.

The following morning the main road to the airport was completely empty and very dark. All of a sudden a group of men came out a dark alleyway and straight towards me. I was expecting the worst but they turned out to be in the local football team and out for an early morning training run.

Flying with an airline that was banned from European airspace was one of them things I had to do. There was no restrictions on liquids or anything like that. It was only after walking through the metal detector that I remembered my pockets were full of coins and the alarm didn't even go off. The flight didn't do my nerves any good but I got back to Bali in one piece.

Following the impressive trip round Komodo and through Flores there was the anticlimax of the last few days in Bali.

I had a couple of days in Sanur and was happy to do nothing for the first day. I soon discovered that it was full of high rise hotels and old people fully deserving it's nickname of "snore". The only highlight was finding a bar with the football on.

I headed out by ferry to Nusa Lembongan for a few more days but it was far too quiet for my liking with few people to speak too.

Made friends with a local dog...........................

After that I spent the final night at the airport and flew to Malaysia.....looking forward to a change in food as Nasi Goreng was getting a little boring.......
