IBIZA - SPAIN - PART 3

At the end of the first week Dean went home because he could only get one week off work leaving 6 of us.

The same day a group of girls from north London came round and ended up hanging around with us for the last week we were there. They first knocked on our door thinking the plastic bag full of washing powder they could see I had was drugs and wanted to buy some!!!!!

We did however have loads of vodka which in the words of Lee "how can you not be an alcoholic when vodka is 3 pounds a bottle".
By that point we didn't bother doing any of the stuff planned by the reps and done our own thing. A lot of the time we would invited people round to our room and host a mad drinking binge before heading out.

Scott at the time had little money and was one of the sort who didn't pay his way. I had no problem with sharing out the drink on holiday but the previous year he hired a motorbike crashed it then needed loans off the others to fund the rest of his stay.

There were 2 big annoyances in Ibiza the first being the "lucky lucky" men that plague everyone to buy watches and sunglasses even if you are already wearing those items and even when they have just watched you say no to one of the others just down the road.

The second was dance music being played non stop (such as this). I liked it in the bars and clubs at night but hearing it all day as well got a bit too much. We did respond by playing our own music in our room until the management turned the power off.

The second week while still crazy was not quiet as mad as the first. I was glad I was only 23 when I went because I would not have been able to cope 5-10 years later. The highlight was the nightclub Es Paradis which was nothing like I had ever seen before. On the final night I didn't go out because I felt ill but it turned out to be a good thing as the rest got caught up in a massive bar brawl.

The only good thing about going home was that it was quick and painless (no delays). I remember sitting in the pub back home depressed and not speaking to anyone.

Looking back I should have gone on at least half a dozen holidays like that instead of just one (I don't count Rhodes in 1999!!!!). Most of the group I was with went on holiday with their girlfriends in future.
