Half of the crowd I went Ibiza with were going away with their girlfriends this time round so this Europe trip was my only chance of going away that year. There was very little in the way of a plan apart from fly to Amsterdam then head overland in the general direction of the black sea coast. Everyone apart from myself had a month off work, or had left their jobs to go away. I only had 2 weeks so I would be having to leave them behind at some point in the trip.
8 of us were going on this trip. Lee Garrett (front), Scott Gee, Adrian, Jae Wardle, Golly, James Fouracres (pictured left to right behind Lee), Jamie Harrington and myself (pictured below)
We set out on the short flight arriving in Amsterdam Friday evening. The idea was to get the night train to Prague but we had missed it so we had to spend the night there. The cannabis smokers wanted to go into a coffee shop for a smoke before we had any accommodation sorted which annoyed me a lot as we all had our backpacks complete with tents trying to get into a small room.
When we did get to the campsite it was full and there were dozens of people sitting outside. We took our bags to a left luggage at the train station. After going to anothercoffee shop and a couple of bars we all had to sleep rough in central square. This was not as bad as it sounded as a policeman walked past us several times during the night as if he knew our situation and was keeping an eye on us.
The following day after no sleep we again hit the coffee shops which I was not a big fan of, we attempted to sleep on a grass bank next to a canal. I might have got half an hours sleep in the afternoon but I still felt awful.
Leaving the city on the train we got 2 sleeper carriages and a crate of beer and headed off to Prague. Had a good nights sleep and woke up to the last of Germany. There was loads of good mountain scenery combined with some horrible rundown industrial areas covered in Graffiti. We arrived in Prague early in the morning....
