SURFERS PARADISE - AUSTRALIA

Within half an hour of arriving at Surfers paradise I found out that I had arrived at the worst possible time which was Schoolies week. The place was full of youngsters and while they didn't bother us backpackers directly it was a nightmare having to carry your passport around when you went out drinking at night.

The accommodation was one big party place and the atmosphere reminded me of the crazy holiday I had in Ibiza back in 2000. Every night there were organized bar crawls or something happening somewhere. I did noticed however the owners got a bit funny if you done your own thing and didn't go along with what they were organizing. Probably because they made money out of it. !!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a group of people in my dorm room who were fairly wild. One night we all went in a club called Melbas and half of them managed to get themselves thrown out which was not difficult in Australia.

Surfers was one of them places where time seemed to vanish. Probably in an alcohol induced fog !!!! One minute I was the newcomer to the hostel then the next thing I knew I had been there a week. With only a few weeks to go until I went home from Melbourne and with my slow progress down the coast I had to take another internal flight down to Sydney.
