Thanks to air Asia I had missed my connecting flight to Bangkok and ended up staying in Kuala Lumpur again. I only stayed 2 nights but didn't do much because I was in such a bad mood. In the end I settled on going north. Later in the trip I changed my flight to come home from Bangkok instead of Kuala Lumpur. The only thing I remember about these 2 days is getting up in the early hours of the morning to watch the champions league final......
Headed to Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands, it was great to get high up and out of the heat and humidity. It was also good to have a social place full of people. I was the only English person there but all the others said I spoke the worst English out of all of them.
Without the heat this was the place to do some serious walking. Went on a guided walk seeing loads of waterfalls, tea plantations and some strange looking wildlife. Had a tour of a tea factory but it lasted less than 10 minutes.
The second day was a walk to a mountain peak, at 2000m above sea level it was the highest I had ever been and would go for several years. Waste of time taking my camera as it was very foggy at the top. Also went walking on my final day there but didn't go far as my legs were telling me they had enough!!!!!!
The night before heading north to George town a few of us were walking round a shopping center when a massive butterfly landed on one of them!!!!!!!!!
