SEPILOK & MIRI - MALAYSIA

It was the best part of 8 hours on the bus to get to Sepilok. There were some great views of the mountains and the roads were good. As I was going to see the Orang utans I stayed very close to the center. I was not impressed with the accommodation as it was miles away from the town of Sandakan and any shops. As a result they took full advantage charging double the usual cost for basic supplys like food and water.









On one hand seeing these animals was great but on the other it was like going to an overcrowded zoo. You had to push through the crowds of people to get a picture which was not what I wanted. I did go to a far less crowded place later on in the trip.

Once I had been to the center and had a look round Sandakan I was ready to move on. So I got a flight to Miri...........


The accommodation and the people who ran it were outstanding. There were only 3 other guests all from Holland there. It was almost like staying round someones house. The downside was that it was miles away from the city and anywhere else which was good if you want to relax and do nothing for a couple of days but bad if you want to get out and about.



Chilled out for a couple of days then flew to Kuching........
