After my side trip to Cambodia it was back to Bangkok, I even stopped at the same place as the first time.
The Thai who was at my hostel a week earlier was still there, also there was a couple of others one from Singapore and the other from Bolton. We went to an observation point at Baiyoke sky hotel.
The view from the top was great but there was very little greenery just endless concrete as far as the eye could see in every direction.
As before the Thai took us to places not usually seen by tourists, he took us to where he grew up in the north of the city. This picture looks like I found a job selling oranges!!!!!!!!!!
Now the world cup had kicked off seeing the sights had become a second priority. Bangkok (and Thailand in general) was a great place to watch it. There was big screens set up in the city center with cheap beer for sale at the local shops. This picture was taken before we headed out to see Englands 2-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago.
One of the downsides of being in Thailand for the world cup is that the matches were being played late and night and into the early hours. To assist with staying awake I tried a few of the cheap energy drinks from the 7/11 shop..........I was still walking the streets wide awake at 6am. In short they are very powerful for how much they cost!!!!!!!!
