HONG KONG - PART 3

As well as Cousin David there was old family friend Tony Booth to visit. He had been living out there for nearly 7 years and was soon due to get to be a permanent resident. He had 2 children and seemed happy enough despite losing his job at the airport and having to work elsewhere.
Tony lived out at Lantau island where it was all hills and scenic fishing villages.

The Buddha statue is one of the main tourist attractions of Hong Kong. It was very hot and humid that day........

I was also taken on a tour of the whole island and walked through some tourist free villages. The area seemed a million miles away from the crowded city center. Having 2 children and odd work hours I only got to see Tony a couple of times while I was there.

The last time I seen Tony he invited me to join his wall climbing group. We went out for a meal first then went to a leisure center. It was ok to do the once but I couldn't see myself doing that once or twice a week like others there obviously did. They took seconds to get up the wall that took me several minutes. My fingers were aching for days after that.........There was also the social aspect as the group often went out eating and drinking after climbing.

After doing my side trip to Macau it was off to the Philippines. I was going to fly into Cebu and out from Manila to Taiwan.
