IBIZA - SPAIN - PART 1

The holiday in Rhodes the previous year had been a complete disaster but Ibiza more than made up for it. To go to Ibiza is almost like a modern day rite of passage. It was easily the most crazy 2 weeks of my life.

7 of us went in total which was just the right amount. Danny Baugh, Gavin Swift, Lee Garrett, Scott Gee and Carl Chambers (pictured L to R) Dean Hutchinson (pictured below) only went for one week while the rest of us went for two.

The first day set the standard for the rest of the holiday. We arrived at East Midlands airport at about 6am for an 8am flight but it got delayed for about 2 hours in the end. We headed to the airport bar for a few drinks which ended up at about 7 or 8 pints of beer each. Lee plugged his CD player in while we were in there. How we got away with that and how we were even allowed on the plane I will never know. The 2 hour flight consisted of yet more drinking and we finally arrived at our accommodation in San Antonio mid afternoon.

The first night we just went completely crazy and were all asleep before midnight just as everyone else was going out. This is a mistake everyone makes at least once.

It was the typical young British people in Spain holiday. English people outnumbered everyone else by at least twenty to one. We ate English food and watched English TV during the day. We never went more than 2 miles away from where we were staying. But we enjoyed every minute of it.....................
