Done the short journey down the coast to Ao Nang beach and quickly found a place to stay. Had to sit around for 2 hours while the lock was being fixed on my door. Went to the Tiger Temple cave north of town to climb the Limestone hill. It was over 1200 steps going 600 metres, some of the steepest stairs I have ever seen. At one point you were grabbing the steps in front of you. I done about 2 litres of water in the space of half an hour!!!! The view from the top was good.....
Then there was coming back down which was horrible. I was sitting on the steps inching my way slowly down at one point, they were that steep. Needless to say after that I didn't feel like doing much the rest of the afternoon.
Ended up meeting a few people and going out at night to a few bars round the corner. Turned out to be a good night in the end. There was a bit of a nasty fight in one of the bars. All I saw from a distance was someone being dragged outside and kicked across the floor.
Ao Nang was just a one street beach town so not the sort of place I wanted to linger for very long. So after 2 nights it was off down to Phuket
